Minneapolis is a city with great history, culture, rich history and diversity, having places and events within the city which are free to all citizens who wish to visit them. Here are three of these events; the Davenport Art Gallery , the Minneapolis Sculpture Garden and the Davenport Zoo.
The Davenport Art Gallery, opened in the 1920’s, was designed by Albert Einhorn. Located within Nicollet Mall, the art gallery features more than 400 contemporary artworks. It boasts the largest collection in the country of African American and Native American art, including some significant works by Jackson Pollock and Richard Diebenkorn (the latter of whom used to visit the gallery for inspiration, but no longer does).
The Minneapolis Sculpture Garden is a well organized, well-equipped outdoor art space in the middle of Minneapolis. It is open to the public 365 days a year, from 6 am to 12 midnight, free of charge. During the winter, from November 1 to March 31, a Winter Art Show this year was held on the January 9, 2021 – February 28, 2021.
One of the best places to go is the Saint Anthony Falls.
